The Real Reasons You Don't Have What You Want Yet
It's not unusal for people to enjoy success in one area of life while another area of their life consistently falls below the mark. Maybe your career has really taken off but you always end up in the wrong relationships. Or maybe you enjoy great health and have fulfilling relationships but for reasons you can't fathom, you just can't get a handle on your finances.
Sigmund Freud said, "Being entirely honest with oneself is a good exercise."
If there is there is an area of your life that is consistently causing you a headache, it's probably time to scratch beneath the surface reasons, excuses and justifications and identify the real source of the problem.

The real reason some areas of your life work better than others comes down to your beliefs and thought habits. Your thoughts and beliefs effect your behaviour and actions which is what determines your results.
Consider this question; what is it that I have been unwilling to give up in order to make my dream a reality?
Here are some of the real reasons why you don't have what you want yet:
You Spend More Time Focussing On What You Don't Want Than What You Do Want
Are you willing to give up complaining? Abraham Hicks says "You have to begin to tell the story of your life as you now want it to be and discontinue the tales of how it has been or of how it is." When you begin to stop telling the old story and let go of the excuses you have been telling yourself and others about why you haven’t yet got what you want then you open yourself up to new opportunities.
The Law of Correspondence states that energy flows where attention goes. Each time you catch yourself thinking or speaking of what you don’t want, immediately replace that thought with what you do want instead.
You Keep The Wrong Company
If you are serious about taking your life to the next level and ridding yourself of any out dated beliefs and behaviours then you may have to reassess who you spend your time with. You may have certain people in your life that perpetuate the problems you are trying to get rid of. Make an effort to surround yourself with people who will uplift and support you on your journey to achieving your goals.
In the words of Mark Twain, "Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you believe that you too can become great."
You Are Scared Of Failure
Have you ever been on a roll, making progress, feeling good and then suddenly out of nowhere something happens or somebody says something that sends you into a spin? Sometimes it can take weeks, months or even years to recover from a set back and to get yourself back on track. When setting out on your journey, be aware that you will inevitably encounter some set backs. If you anticipate a few curve balls along the way you will be much better prepared to deal with them and much less likely to end up on your arse dazed and confused wondering what on earth just happened.
If you are serious about changing your circumstances, you have to learn to see failure in a different light. Look for the lessons and feedback it can provide you with. Use it as guidance and motivation to fuel your fire. Give up the notion that failure means stop trying.
Something as simple as getting out of bed an hour earlier could make a significant difference in the accomplishment of your goals. If you don't have what you want yet, it might be because you haven't been consistently putting in enough action.
These are just some of the things that could be preventing you from making the progress you want towards your goal. Your desire must be strong enough that you are willing to give up your old ways, burn your bridges and fully commit to becoming a butterfly.
You Don't Want It Enough
If you've wanted something for a long time and you still don't have it, ask yourself if you really want it. If you're not prepared to do what it takes to achieve your goal then just drop the goal. Stop talking about it. Focus on something else instead.
If you do still want it, then re-evaluate your priorities and strategy for making it happen. Identify what you need to give up and go and get what you want!
